Procedures to be followed by Hit and Run victims or claimants wishing to make a claim

One can only make a claim to the IICF if:
The claimant is a victim of a hit and run road traffic accident on or after 1st January 2016.
The claimant is the legal guardian or heir of the victim.
The victim has suffered physical injury or is dead as a result of the accident
The police have not been able to identify the person causing the accident.
It has been more than 3 months since the date of the accident.
The accident is reported to the police.

Compensation settling

Once a claim is made by a hit and run victim or the estate of the deceased victim, the following procedure is applied
Investigation of the claim (verification of all supporting documents)
Studying of police report(s) and medical report(s);
Assessment of the claim by the Managing Committee and Technical Sub-Committee;
Outcome of the assessment is communicated to the victim/claimant for further procedures, if any;
Payment of compensation to the victim/claimant depending on eligibility.
